About Elatia
Elatia Loam Hathaway Wecker Wintersquash is a visual artist who portrays human psyches through ceramic animal and human forms. She was born at her home in Boulder, Colorado in 1995. She graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2019 with a double degree in Bachelor of Fine Arts and Bachelor of Psychology, in addition to a Minor in Art History. Elatia has had solo shows in West End salon and Vic’s Coffee Shop, both in Boulder, Colorado. She has also been in two group shows at the Dairy Arts Center and MadeLife Gallery also in Boulder Colorado.
Artist Statement
Within my artwork I focus on human psychology and its raw animalistic memories, dreams, and emotions. My work strives to place these psychological experiences, which are often my own, into animal and human figures.
I want to make works that compel people to stand and reflect, rather than act. Perhaps, once personal reflection occurs, a person might be able to know more about themselves and how they interact within the world and how their actions create impacts. Therefore, after reflection, maybe the world could become a bit more understanding, which is what we need in this 21st century.
